If you apply for a job can it show up on your credit report?

I checked my credit report and a job I applied for like 10 months ago was on it. I wasn't hired at the job I applied for. I have applied for a dozen jobs and none of those were on my credit report. Should I be concerned? Why was this the only job that I applied for on my credit report? Dose every one have jobs they applied for on their credit report?

The job would only show up on your credit report if they ran a credit check on you.
The credit bureaus collect information about you from their subscribers, your creditors.

Job information is kept by the credit reporting agencies and is allowed under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The information is obtained through the application process. When you fill out an application for credit the job information, address, and other personal information is keyed in by the company you apply for when pulling your credit reports. Most creditors will never ask you again once they've approved you, so the credit reporting agencies have no other way to obtain the information.
