If you filed bankruptcy, how can you get approved for a personal loan?

My mother had to file bankruptcy last year, but she wants to get a $2,000 loan. She makes around $1,200 a month before taxes and she has no additional collateral to secure her loan. Can she still get approved for an unsecured personal loan?

It would be nearly impossible to get a loan. Either from a bank or any other line of credit.

In the current economy it is hard enough to get a loan but after filing bankruptcy....it is close to IMPOSSIBLE. The reason being that your credit score is completely destroyed....you HAVE to credit which is the main thing that people look at when approving or disapproving you for a loan.

She filed for bankruptcy. She has no collateral. There's not a legitimate lender in the country who would consider giving her a loan.

She's going to have to either find a way to increase her income, or learn to live within her means.

http://diylegalinfo.com/bankruptcy_Links.html has a lot of information on bankruptcy questions, how to handle them yourself and other information.

Forget it - she will not be able to get any kind of personal loan for at least 2-3 more years and probably not at all with that small an income
