Haha, of course. But there are caveats.

First, an auto loan is a collateralized loan. Meaning, that if you default on your car payments, the credit issuer can technically seize the car and recover most of the loan.

Second, sub-prime loans still exist and you most likely fit in this category. Two years ago, you could probably walk right off the lot with a car. However, nowadays you will likely need to give a down payment, find a co-signer, etc. like Jenna said.

Ironically, the best place to find out is to go to a reputable dealership. After all, they want you in a car. Places like Carmax will take your info, send it to a credit wholesaler, and then return a list of financing options from DIFFERENT companies for your situation. Beware of places that have a "sole financing partner", as it's probably a bad rate which gives a kickback to the dealer.

Lastly, compare your rate to the current auto rate on Bankrate.com. It's a good way to see how much you're paying above "prime," aka "the good rate."

Good Luck!

It is possible to get an auto loan, but, would you really want one with a high interest rate? You would be upside down in it for quite some time, which would prevent you from refinancing it to a lower rate once you do get your credit in better shape.

Just know, you are like raw meat in front of sharks in your situation.

If it is possible it would be at a much higher interest rate than if you had good credit. You might think about trying to find someone like a relative or good friend that might be willing to cosign on the loan for/with you. That might encourage a lender to lower the interest rate even a little bit.

With the way that all loans have been difficult to get approved recently. The web places are good and sometimes have easier approval sometimes.

My friend recently used http://auto.deal4-you.com

Yes but you'll pay a much higher interest rate than if your credit rating were A1.
