Of course I'm sure many are. Now many have revolted against rising gas prices by limiting days to purchase. I'm thinking of doing the same by limiting credit card purchases. Many already are but if more focus to do so, we can make a difference. Businesses like it since cash is better. We should all ask to get a discount, like at restaurants for example. Get more available cash by utilizing selling stuff on Ebay or garage sales. Use this as an incentive to be rid of old stuff. We CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Any similar ideas?

I'm totally disgusted and congress may have just made the situation worse by passing the credit card legislation. Even if you stop using your credit cards, have a high fico score and perfect payment history, pay your balance off every month, the credit card companies are reducing credit limits, increasing interest rates, shortening the payment cycle and even closing cards due to inactivity. They are even threatening to start charging interest the day you charge an item for purchase. In essence, they want to charge their best customers for their worst customer's behavior! I believe these measures will backfire, however, because the best customers have the cash to completely stop using their credit which will only hurt them in the long run. And, yes you can often get discounts for using cash, particularly for big purchases, like furniture. Many stores will offer free delivery or to take off the sales tax when you pay cash. Some retailers are so desperate for a sale that they will offer you a discount after a sale has ended, or offer to match another retailers price, too.

Just using the card on some days is no more effective than just buying gas on some days, or just from some suppliers. Businesses don't see one day's results and then immediately plot a new strategy. Want to change the way credit card companies do business? Close your accounts and pay for everything with cash or check. Want to change the way gas companies do business? Stop buying gas period. Use mass transit, buy an electric car, etc.

If you don't feel like using your credit card then don't.
I don't understand what "difference" you're trying to make by selling stuff on Ebay but good luck with that.

There's nothing wrong with credit cards; the problem is with the people who misuse them.
