Looking around the neighborhood for jobs like mowing or snow shoveling, especially just after it snows a lot or when a lawn looks long.
Poor kids in my city collect aluminum cans for recycling--scour the alleys.
If you have a skill, offer to do work in that area for somebody. My brother fixes TVs and small appliances for people in his neighborhood and this is actually his only job. If you don't have a skill, learn one.
Look for opportunities that nobody else has noticed. You might want to look online for kids who have made millions and see what they did. The link I found is something I am not advocating but the guy does write very popular Chicken Soup for--- books, so he's legit and this might give you some ideas.
Watch out for posters who are sending you to specific sites where you can sign up for work. Generally these don't make you money, they end up costing you time and money. If you do follow one up, have a trusted adult read all the fine print so you know what you are actually going to be doing.
