can anyone plz tell me how RIL will give the bonus shares?..i mean whether they will allot 1 share of RIL w.r.to 16 shares of RPL first befor giving 1:1(bonus) of RIL ...or will give 1:1(bonus) of RIL first than will allot 1 share of RIL w.r.to 16 of RPL...?
You seem too confused on this. Please don't.
If you were holding RPL shares, they have already been converted into RIL. So if you were holding 16 shares of RPL, you have already got 1 Share of RIL.
Now on this 1 share or RIL, you will get 1 share as bonus from RIL.
So once ex-bonus date is set, you will be holding 2 shares of RIL.
Hi the RPL:PIL 16:1 ratio shares have already been added to demat account. Check it. Now after the record date for Bonus, your RIL shares will become double in quantity. but mind you Current Market price of RIL will be halved. So bonus will be helpful only from dividend point of view.
Hope this clears your query
Don't expect to get double bonus by getting 1 share of RIL for every 16 shares of RPL and then again getting a bonus on that 1 share. They will give you the bonus separately for both shares, ie 1 bonus share for every 1 RIL share held, and separately 1 bonus share for every 16 RPL shares held.
What I had thought was that they will give a bonus share separately for each RIL, and each 16 RPL ... but here something seems awry ! I find that my RPL shares have been suddenly converted into RIL (before awarding the bonus) !!
