First correct answer 10 points and all answers that are correct High Rating

1(a).
Number of workers after 1 year
= 6500*(1-14%)
= 5590
Number of workers after 2 years
= 6500*(1-14%)^2
= 4807

1(b).
Let x acres be the amount of land that the farmer originally owned.

x*(1-20%) = 60
x*80% = 60
x*0.8 = 60
x = 60/0.8
x = 75

He originally owned 75 acres of land.

1(c).
Let $x be the price of the kitchen before the discount.

x*(1-12%) = 4224
x*88% = 4224
x*0.88 = 4224
x = 4224/0.88
x = 4800

The price of the kitchen is $4800 before the discount.

1a) 6500x0.14= 910 employees
After 1 year 6500-910= 5590 employees

5590 x 0.14 = 783 employees

After 2 years 5590 - 783 = 4807 employees

Not that hard...you can do it =)
